SBR Technologies conducts develops a design for the biological treatment of groundwater contaminated with volatile organic compounds. Challenge SBR Technologies, Inc. (SBRT) was hired to conduct laboratory treatability studies in order to assess the feasibility of biological treatment of contaminated groundwater samples from a large chemical manufacturing site in northern New Jersey. Contaminants identified in groundwater samples included BTEX, acetonitrile, methylene chloride, chloroform, and other halogenated volatile organic compounds (VOCs). SBR Technologies Solution Biological treatment of the samples was evaluated in both the SBR and the SBBR. The laboratory study demonstrated conclusively that biological treatment of the groundwater was feasible. Benefits Achieved Specific results from the study included:
